you are strong

Hey geeks! I was on tumblr the other day and I saw this and I stopped scrolling and I kept staring at it. I read it over and over again and I began to think. Why do I hate myself? Most of you don't know, but I have Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA) and daily life is pretty hard. Somebody once told me that you limit yourself, and that's true, but for people like me it's really hard not to. You start comparing yourself to other people and you start wondering "Why can't I be like that?" "Why can't I do things like that?". People don't see it, but it's so hard to be yourself in a world where you are just trying to fit in with everyone but deep inside you know that you will never be able to do what they do. You start to lose hope in yourself, you stop believing. Of course, since my world is based upon doctor visits and new treatments and daily pills. You feel sad about your life, you feel miserable. You're automatically known as the "cripple" kid or the lazy kid who doesn't do anything in PE or that special treatment kid who can have more time for exams or people that carry her books or people that write for her. It really sucks.
But, it DOESN'T have to be like that. You are better than that. You are strong and you can fend for yourself and you can ignore what they say, because no one knows what you ahve gone through. All the obstacles you face in life, you defeat them. You don't run away from your fears or difficulties you face them. You keep fighting and you keep winning, because you are not a doll that gets to be thrown all over the place. You are a beautiful human being that goes through all the hardships in life and you still end up smiling in the face of all your enemies.
Insecurities are a part of us. Pointing out your flaws and comparing yourself to others is human. We strive to be like others and have a flat stomach or toned thighs or whatever you want, But those insecurities make us, us. The thing that all humans have in common is that we're all different. You are special in your own way. Those things that you hate, they have served you well in life. Just like the picture, your legs have carried you where you want to go, your hands have written beautiful words, your arms have given the best hugs, your stomach has laughed loudly and has eaten the best food you have ever tasted.
I will not say you are perfect, because no one is perfect, but you are exactly the way you are meant to be. Remember that, and you will be invincible. You will be happier, smile at stupid things, and with a smile on your face you look prettier. You are strong, and nothing can take you down.
